Heidi is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of Florida. She is a University of Central Florida graduate, where she received her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a Certificate in Play Therapy. She also completed a Certificate in Leadership Practice from Rollins Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. She has over fifteen years of experience working in a variety of settings including private practice, community counseling, in-home, educational and nonprofit organizations. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups with concerns including infant mental health, attachment and bonding, trauma, relationships and communication, grief and loss, and generational patterns.
Heidi utilizes a relational approach to counseling, believing that our wounds happen in relationships and healing also comes from relationships. She he has a passion for working with people and considers it an honor to be invited into the client’s process and to come alongside them in their journey. She strives to create a safe environment, with empathy, compassion, and transparency, in order to meet clients where they are at and empower them to work towards a fulfilling life.
Additionally, she is a certified relationship educator and parenting facilitator in various programs (Becoming Parents Program, Nurturing Parenting Program, Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level I Clinical Training Couples Therapy, Growing Great Kids Tier 1). She has presented at national conferences and community events. Heidi is fluent in English and Spanish.
